Daily Forecast 4/21/2021

Good morning, PA! Happy Wednesday! If you can't tell yet, today will be a very busy day weather-wise. While some portions of the state are under the threat for severe weather, other areas will be dealing with snow showers and frigid temperatures (for April standards). Read below for more information. The future radar is also attached at the bottom.

AREA A - Expect a band of heavy, wet snow during the morning hours in this area. This period of snow could last into the early afternoon hours for portions of this outlined area. For the rest of the afternoon & evening, expect isolated to scattered snow showers. I already have put out a snowfall accumulation map. If you have not seen it yet, it was posted last evening across all of my social media pages.

AREA B - This area will see scattered mixed showers. At first, precipitation may begin as rain, however, as colder air filters into this region expect snow showers, possibly mixed with graupel. No accumulation is expected in this area.

AREA C - This area will see numerous rain showers during the late morning hours through the early afternoon hours. However, as the front pushes through, expect a large drop in temperatures. During the afternoon and evening hours, only expect isolated rain showers.

AREA D - This area will be under the threat for strong-to-severe thunderstorms during the late morning hours through the early afternoon hours. Based off of the latest model guidance, a strong squall line is expected to develop and push through this region. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall remain the greatest threats. Lightning is possible in this potential squall line. REMEMBER, if you hear thunder, head indoors!

AREA E - This area will be in the "dry slot" of today's weather system. Expect isolated rain showers during the morning and early afternoon hours. Otherwise, expect a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day.
